1. Understand the Intended Use

Clarify the business, intended customer, environment, operating context, problem to solve, market and project objective.

2. Clarify the Product Direction

Determine whether the project should begin with a product concept, sample, disposable supply, packaging review, guest kit or custom item.

3. Review Samples and Supplier Options

Compare practical options against defined criteria. Record which sample or document was reviewed, what it demonstrates and what remains unconfirmed.

4. Confirm Specifications, Claims and Packaging

Clarify materials, dimensions, format, performance expectations, branding, packaging, labels and carton details—and use only claims supported for the exact option.

5. Review MOQ, Cost and Timeline

Set realistic expectations for minimum quantities, tooling or customization, sampling cost, production timing, component availability, freight and dependencies.

6. Proceed With Trial or Production Coordination

Move forward when the direction is sufficiently clear. Confirm approvals, responsibilities, revision limits, tolerances, commercial terms and checkpoints.

7. Plan Delivery and Repeat Supply

Review destination, trade terms where available, receiving constraints, staged delivery, buffer stock, reorder points and future replenishment.
